About
Artist & Photographer
Situated on the Severn side of the Malvern Hills, my house, aptly named Karnek (meaning rocky ground in old Cornish), is nestled within an ancient, abandoned quarry.

Working within this unique blend of nature and remnants of a man-made landscape, I’m provided with rich inspiration when I work.

There’s an interplay of light and shadow on the rocks that tower above my studio. "The sunrise in the summer lights the quarry inferno orange but on wet winter days it could be hidden behind a shroud of mist with just the sound of trickling water as the rain descends".
This is enriched with the sounds and glimpses of the creatures that share this space. Muntjac deer bark, crows and buzzards call, and the returning Peregrine falcon's noisily nest above my garden each spring. As night falls, the foxes forage and screeching barn owls hunt.
